tables, grids, lattices
Contingency tables are used for keeping track of counts or proportions in a probability problem. We can use them to figure out if an event is dependent or independent. So, contingency tables can be used to represent the probability of two events, A and B, which may or may not be independent of each other. These tables are used to help us calculate probabilities and conditional probabilities.
